Functions and Roles of
CMB Site Coordinators
Application and Registration
- Provide academic advising if a member of Brandon University Faculty Association
(BUFA), or if assigned the role of academic advising as a part of coordination services to
CMB provided through service agreements with school divisions/colleges
- Scan transcripts
- Assist with admission information for the universities and colleges in CMB
- Assist with completion of application for admission
- Assist with course selection and registration
- Certify official documents
- Ensure documentation is complete
- Assist with registration revision
- Tuition collection
Student Support
- Address day to day student concerns re: marks, delays in exams, VW, illness, etc.
- Conduct student orientations prior to start of classes
- Academic advising if a member of Brandon University Faculty Association (BUFA), or if
assigned the role of academic advising as a part of coordination services to CMB
provided by school divisions/colleges
- Assist students with learning skills/study skills
- Refer students to additional CMB and home institution learning and study skills
resources
- Computer assistance (Internet, Library access, software use)
- Liaison between students and instructors, university administration
- Assist with on-campus transition
- Provide general assistance and referrals as necessary (e.g. request for personal
counseling)
- Assist with registration and registration revision
Program/Course Support
- Assist student with textbook ordering
- Provide students with basic technical support and troubleshooting
- Liaison with CMB central office technician to solve technical problems
- Liaison between instructors, university administration and students
- Provide Test/exam invigilation for CMB courses and CMB partner institution courses
- Assignment flow as requested
- Classroom monitoring
- On-site lab support
- Liaison with local partners (school/college/education authority)
- Manage learning and instructional technologies at CMB Centres with support from CMB
central technician
- Identify tutors if required
- Track student and course documents and materials and report as requested
Advertising and Promotional Activities
- Promoting and marketing CMB programs and courses at local high schools, career/job
fairs, employment and career forums, tradeshows, and other relevant community
events
- Coordination of local advertising with approval of CMB Director
- Direct mailing as approved by CMB Director
- Trade shows, career symposiums as approved by CMB Director
- School activities (information sessions, grad assemblies, open houses)
- Community contact for universities and colleges
Administration
- Overall administration of day-to-day operation of the CMB Centre
- Inventory maintenance for the CMB Centre
- Assist in hiring process for additional staff
- Supervision of additional staff
- Such other appropriate duties as assigned by CMB Director
- Work with CMB central office on issues related to program/course offerings, any related
administrative processes, procedures, and requirements
- Attend and participate in CMB staff meetings and sub-committee meetings
