This page has been developed with you, the instructor, in mind. We wanted to provide quick answers to commonly asked questions about iLinc features and functions.
Check out this information even if you are not having problems, as you may find features and functions to enhance your course delivery.
If you have a question about iLinc, contact:
DawnDena Gordon (1-866-445-0063) or gordond@brandonu.ca or
Don Marlow, after hours contact (204-627-8650) or (204-573-0293(cell)) or

who will find out the answer and post it for you and others to share.
Please check your audio device (USB speakerphone, headset, etc.) and make sure it is connected properly to the computer. Run the audio wizard (Tools, Audio Settings, Wizard) to make sure the devices (speakers and microphone) are responding correctly. Note: Some computers have more than one device and running the wizard tells iLinc which device to use.
If you are using our standardized Phoenix PCS USB speakerphone system, please make sure you tell the audio wizard that you are using headphones, not speakers, as choosing headphones turns on full duplex sound (hands free operation) RECOMMENDED. Selecting speakers in the audio wizard, using the USB speakerphone option, turns on half duplex, which acts like a CB radio, you have to click the microphone to speak, then mute the microphone to listen (within the ilinc client program).
The recommended use of Powerboard is: Do not use multiple Powerboards for your session. Use one Powerboard and add a New Page by clicking on Insert New Page. If you have multiple pages, you can go back and forth using the Previous Page and Next Page options in the toolbar. (Just like navigating in a web browser)
Yes, instructors can change the default start page of the synchronized browser AND the default start page of the session. To do so, first:
